    Use fresh standard buffer solutions (commonly pH 7.01 and pH 4.01; add pH 10.01 for three‑point calibration if needed). Rinse the electrode with distilled water and blot gently, immerse it in the pH 7 buffer, wait for the reading to stabilize and set the meter to 7.00 using the calibration control (knob or button per your manual). Rinse again, place the electrode in the pH 4 (and pH 10 if used) buffer, wait to stabilize and adjust the slope/second calibration control to the correct value. Always calibrate at or near the sample temperature and recalibrate regularly (daily or before critical measurements).

    What is the correct procedure for taking pH measurements with the PHS-3C?
    Rinse and gently blot the electrode, immerse it to the recommended depth (don’t submerge the body past the maximum line), stir or swirl the sample gently to remove trapped air, then wait until the displayed value is stable before recording. Rinse between different samples. For small-volume samples, use a clean container and ensure the electrode bulb is fully covered. Record sample temperature or use temperature compensation if available.

    How should I clean and store the electrode to prolong its life?
    After use, rinse the electrode with distilled water. For routine cleaning of normal samples use a mild detergent rinse; for protein or oil contamination use a suitable cleaning solution per the manual. Store the electrode in a proper electrode storage solution or in a pH 4 buffer with some KCl—never store long‑term in pure distilled or deionized water, and avoid leaving it dry. If the electrode dries out, recondition it in storage solution before use.
